§ 152-18 Special purpose parking zones established; parking otherwise prohibited.

§ 152-18.1 Closing of certain streets to certain vehicles.

It shall be unlawful for any person to drive any vehicle with a trailer with a width exceeding 102 inches, or to drive any vehicle or other tractor, trailer, or tractor-trailer combination with a combined length in excess of 28 1/2 feet, in the following locations:

§ 152-19 Commercial vehicle parking.

A. Parking of certain commercial vehicles, motor buses, tractors, trailers and truck tractors, as hereinafter defined, is prohibited on all streets within the Borough of Sellersville between the hours of 12:00 midnight and 6:00 a.m., except when said vehicles are parked for the purpose and in the process of the delivery or picking up of property.

B. Definitions. Words and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them as follows:

COMMERCIAL MOTOR VEHICLE

(1) Any motor vehicle designed for carrying freight or merchandise which has more than four wheels and tires, has a total length of more than 18 feet or a body, removable or otherwise, designed as a mobile home, for travel or camping. Trailers, irrespective of the number of wheels or the designed use, be it for the transportation of personal property or recreational equipment (boats, snowmobiles, motorcycles, etc.), shall be considered for this section as a commercial motor vehicle.

(2) Any motor vehicle of a bus type, designed for the mass transportation of persons, including students of any and all educational institutions or participants of Sunday schools, church schools and church services, shall be considered for this section as a commercial motor vehicle.

(3) A suburban motor vehicle, namely a station wagon and a four-wheel van, shall not be deemed to be a commercial motor vehicle for the purpose of this section.

MOTOR BUS, TRACTOR, TRAILER AND TRUCK TRACTOR

Have the same meanings and same definitions as those terms which are defined by the Vehicle Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the definitions as therein set forth and incorporated herein by reference thereto.[1]

§ 152-19.1 Violations and penalties.

Except as otherwise provided in the Vehicle Code, this article shall be enforced by a criminal action in the same manner provided for the enforcement of summary offenses under the Pennsylvania Rules of Criminal Procedure. A person convicted of violating this article shall be sentenced to pay a fine not to exceed $1,000 per violation, plus court costs and reasonable attorneys' fees incurred by the Borough of Sellersville, or to imprisonment for not more than 90 days, or both. Violations of more than one provision of this article shall constitute separate violations. Each day that a violation of any provision of this article continues or occurs shall constitute a separate violation.
