This chapter shall be known as the "Codification of Fees and Costs of the City of Union City."

This chapter is adopted in order to advise the citizens of the City and any and all persons doing business with the City of the various fees charged for services rendered by the departments of City government and to provide ready access to any and all such information.

The following fees shall be charged by the City for services rendered or licenses or permits issued. All license and permit fees shall be annual, unless otherwise noted.

Pursuant to § 12-4:
A.
The fee for ambulance services (basic life support) shall be a base fee of $900, plus $25 per mile per trip.
B.
The fee for refusal of medical attention, when an ambulance is called and then the person refuses medical attention, shall be $300 per call. This fee shall be billed to the insurance company of the caller.
C.
The fee for the use of oxygen, when required, is $100.
D.
The fee for non-emergent transport services shall be a base fee of $900, plus $25 per mile per trip.
E.
The fee for services provided in connection with deceased individuals (emergency) shall be a base fee of $900, plus $25 per mile per trip.

A.
Exemption for tax-exempt organizations. All charitable, philanthropic, fraternal and religious nonprofit organizations, holding a tax exempt status under the Federal Internal Revenue Code of 1954 [26 U.S.C. § 501(c)], shall be exempt from the payment of fees as required in Chapter 155, pertaining to any application for land development, construction or building permit filed for or on behalf of the charitable, philanthropic, fraternal or religious nonprofit organization.
B. APPLICATION FEES, CONSTRUCTION FEES AND OTHER CHARGES TAX EXEMPT ORGANIZATION
Definitions. As used in this section, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
Refers only to any charitable, philanthropic, fraternal or religious nonprofit organization, recognized as holding a tax exempt status under the Federal Internal Revenue Code, 26 U.S.C. § 501(c)3.
C.
Procedure for waiver request. The applicant shall request a waiver of fees under this section as follows:
(1)
A qualified tax exempt organization seeking an exemption from payment of any fee shall request such exemption in writing to the Municipal Clerk with copies to the Planning and Zoning Board Secretary and Construction Code Official.
(2)
Any written application for exemption under this section shall include, if a tax exempt organization, a copy of the tax exemption organization's current federal tax exemption certificate.
(3)
The applicant shall provide verification from the City Tax Collector that all municipal taxes and assessments on the property in question are current as of the date of application for waiver of fees.
(4)
The Municipal Clerk shall forward the written request and documentation to the Public Safety Director for final consideration and approval of the exemption.
D.
Separate application for each development project. A separate written fee waiver application shall be required for each separate project or development.
