This chapter shall be known as the "Town of Riverhead Highways,
Streets and Sidewalks Local Law."
The purpose of this chapter is to regulate the excavation of
highways, streets and sidewalks within the Town of Riverhead, damage
to roadway surfaces, deposit or encumbrance of roadways and sidewalks,
and regulation and removal of snow and ice so as to minimize disruption
of traffic flow and, in general, to promote the health, safety and
welfare of the public.
