Article 4: CONSTRUCTION OFFICIAL AND PLUMBING SUBCODE OFFICIAL

There is hereby created and established the position of Construction Official. The Construction Official shall be appointed by the Borough Council pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:27D-126 for a term of four (4) years. Whenever the term "Building Official" is used in the Revised Ordinances of the Borough, said term shall be read as though the term "Construction Official" were substituted therefor, and all authority and responsibility vested in the Building Official under the Revised Ordinances of the Borough not inconsistent with N.J.S.A. 52:27D-119 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 5:23-1.1 et seq. shall be conferred upon the Construction Official appointed pursuant to this article.

(b)

In addition to the duties otherwise provided by the Revised Ordinances of the Borough not inconsistent herewith, the duties of the Construction Official shall be to enforce and administer, within the jurisdiction of the Borough, R.S. 52:27D-119 et seq. and as amended and supplemented and N.J.A.C. 5:23-1.1 et seq. and as amended and supplemented.

2-12 Plumbing Subcode Official.

There is hereby created and established the position of Plumbing Subcode Official. The Plumbing Subcode Official shall be appointed by the Borough Council pursuant to R.S. 52:27D-126 for a term of four (4) years. Whenever the term "Plumbing Inspector" or "Plumbing and Sewer Inspector" is used in the Revised Ordinances of the Borough, said term shall be read as though the term "Plumbing Subcode Official" were substituted therefor, and all authority and responsibility vested in the plumbing inspector or plumbing and sewer inspector under the Revised Ordinances of the Borough, not inconsistent with R.S. 52:27D-119 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 5:23-1.1 et seq., shall be conferred upon the Plumbing Subcode Official appointed pursuant to this article.
