A.
Eligibility. Only qualified voters of the City shall be eligible to hold the office of Mayor.
B.
Election procedure. The procedure for nomination and election of Mayor shall be established by the general laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for municipal elections.
C.
Term of office. The Mayor shall be elected to a four-year term of office.
D.
Salary. The Mayor shall receive a salary at the rate of $1,800 per annum or such other sum as the Council shall from time to time ordain; provided, however, that no ordinance increasing such salary shall become effective for at least four years after the effective date of the Charter. No such increase in salary, however, shall become effective until the date of commencement of the term of Mayor elected at the next regular election after such salary increase; provided, that such election follows the adoption of such ordinance by at least one year. The Mayor shall receive no other compensation, direct or indirect, for the performance of his duties; he shall receive no pensions, insurance or other forms of fringe benefits. The Mayor, shall, however, be entitled to his reasonable, actual expenses incurred in the performance of duties.
