[HISTORY: Adopted by the City Council of the City of Farrell 3-8-1979 by Ord. No. O-6-1979. Amendments noted where applicable.]
The following words and/or phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the following meanings:
DOMICILE
That place where a person lives and maintains his or her true, fixed, bona fide and permanent home; the place where, if he or she is a family person, said person lives and maintains his or her true, fixed, bona fide and permanent family home and to which, whenever said person is absent, said person has the intention of returning.
EMPLOYEE
Any person employed by the City of Farrell on a full-time basis and whose salary and/or wages are paid solely by the City of Farrell.

A. 
Subject to the specific provisions of § 82-2E, all City employees except public safety employees who become employed by the City of Farrell at a date following the effective date of this chapter shall become domiciled within the City of Farrell within a period of one year (12 months) from the date of their employment and must continue to be domiciled within the City of Farrell during the course of their employment with the City.
B. 
All City employees employed by the City of Farrell on the effective date of this chapter shall be required to maintain their domicile within the City of Farrell during the course of their employment with the City, except for employees presently domiciled outside the City under prior City ordinances.
C. 
Should any City employee presently domiciled outside the City change his domicile after the effective date of this chapter, he shall be required to make his domicile within the City of Farrell.
D. 
Any City employee who shall violate the domiciliary requirements of this chapter shall be dismissed from City employment.
E. 
Notwithstanding anything to the contrary set forth within Ordinance No. O-6-1979, public safety employees, excluding the positions Fire Chief and Police Chief, within six months of their employment with the City, must reside within the following area within Mercer County, Pennsylvania, and must continue to be domiciled within said area during the course of their employment with the City:
(1) 
Bounded on the north by PA Rt. 358;
(2) 
Bounded on the east by US Rt. 19;
(3) 
Bounded by the west by the Ohio/Pennsylvania border; and
(4) 
Bounded on the south by the Mercer County/Lawrence County boundary line.
