Commencing with the fiscal year 1998, salaries for the Mayor and Council members shall be as follows:
A. 
Mayor. Five thousand four hundred dollars per year, payable at the rate of $450 per month.
B. 
Council members. Three thousand dollars per year, payable at the rate of $250 per month.
