A. 
Regardless of whether generators are to be serviced by natural gas, diesel, propane or gasoline, application must be made to the Building Department on forms provided by the Borough.
B. 
Two copies of a property survey shall be provided, showing the proposed location and size, in dimensions, of the generator.
C. 
Generators may be located in the rear yards only.
D. 
If the premises is a condominium, a letter of approval from the condominium association granting approval shall be required prior to issuance of a permit.
A. 
A copy of the manufacturer's specifications shall be provided, to include the size of the generator and with all required clearances to building structures, trees, shrubs, roof overhangs, doors, windows, wall air conditioners and wall openings and vents.
B. 
A concrete pad or impervious concrete paving stone for placement of the generator shall be provided. The pad dimension shall be a minimum of six inches larger than the generator unit on all sides or according to the generator manufacturer's specifications, whichever requirement is more stringent.

Installation of a generator must comply with NEC Article 702.
B. 
Load calculations of all loads connected to the generator shall be provided in accordance with NEC Article 220.
C. 
Two copies of a wiring diagram shall be provided, showing the generator, transfer switch and service panel, complete with grounding.
D. 
One copy of the generator and transfer switch specifications shall be provided.
E. 
If the generator has an automatic transfer switch, it must be equipped with load management.
F. 
Portable generators require a permit for the male receptacles, transfer switch or interlock on the existing panel. The interlock must be listed and labeled by a recognized testing lab. (A cut sheet shall be provided for the interlock.)
G. 
The size of the generator in kilowatts, size of the transfer switch in amps and size of the subpanel in amps shall be shown.
H. 
The contractor must be present at final inspection with a complete start-up checklist.
I. 
Test start and run times must be in accordance with the Borough Noise Ordinance and the Peace and Good Order Ordinance.[1]

A. 
A list of required pipe material shall be submitted.
B. 
If CSST is used, the installer certification shall be provided.
C. 
A gas riser diagram, including the length of the pipe run, pipe size and BTU's of the generators shall be submitted.
If the generator is to be fueled by diesel or propane, a separate fire permit is also required from the Chief of the Fire Department.
