A.
Purpose. The purpose of this amendment to the provisions of Chapter 168 of the Code of the Borough of Milford is to provide uniformity in the names of streets and roads in the Borough to assist in the implementation of the State of New Jersey and County of Hunterdon 9-1-1 Emergency Response Program.
B.
Establishment of street names.
(1)
That road, street, way, or boulevard presently known as "Hillcrest Avenue" shall, immediately upon passage of this article in accordance with the law of New Jersey, be thence forward known as and be a portion of "Hillcrest Drive."
[Added 4-4-1995 by Ord. No. 595-95]
A.
Purpose.
(1)
The purpose of this section is to assign names and physical descriptions to existing thoroughfares within the Borough of Milford which are presently undesignated or unnamed, in an attempt to alleviate any potential for confusion related to emergency responses. The governing Council, in its judgment, believes these undesignated thoroughfares have the potential to hinder the effectiveness of any emergency rescue crew attempting to ascertain the location of an emergency called from these unidentified thoroughfares within the Borough.
(2)
The purpose of assigning a name and a physical description to said undesignated thoroughfare is to familiarize emergency crews with the location of the thoroughfare, thereby expediting the time within which emergency crews can respond. This section, in conjunction with the Borough's implementation of the State of New Jersey and the County of Hunterdon 9-1-1 Emergency Response Program, is designed solely to assist emergency crews in ascertaining the location of an emergency response call. This section will not, however, either implicitly or explicitly, be construed as the Borough's acceptance of these thoroughfares as accepted or official roads or streets of the Borough of Milford. This section is deemed as instrumental and necessary for the general welfare of the community of the Borough of Milford.
B.
Establishment of street names.
(1)

(2)
Designation of Pond Lane. A dirt and stone drive, approximately 1 1/2 lanes wide, left off of Hillcrest Drive, commencing approximately 1/20 mile from Mount Pleasant Road and running for approximately 3/10 mile shall hereafter be known and designated as "Pond Lane."
