§ 271. Planning Board; creation and
appointment.

Terms of members first appointed. The terms
of members of the Board shall be for terms so fixed that the term
of one member shall expire at the end of the calendar year in which
such members were initially appointed. The terms of the remaining
members shall be so fixed that one term shall expire at the end of
each calendar year thereafter. At the expiration of the term of each
member first appointed, he or his successor shall be appointed for
a term of four years expiring on March 31 as set forth below.

Terms of members now in office.

(a)
|
Members now holding office for terms which expired
on April 5, 1994, but which, by operation of Town Law § 271,
Subdivision 5, have been extended until December 31, 1994, shall have
their terms expire on December 31, 1994. Their successors shall then
be appointed for terms which shall expire on March 31, 1999; thereafter,
successors shall then be appointed for terms of four years expiring
on March 31.

Members now holding office for terms which are
to expire on April 5, 1995, but which, by operation of Town Law § 271,
Subdivision 5, were extended until December 31, 1995, shall have his
or her term expire on March 31, 1995. His or her successor shall then
be appointed for a term of four years expiring on March 31.

(c)

Any member now holding office for a term which
is to expire on April 5, 1996, but which, by operation of Town Law
§ 271, Subdivision 5, was extended until December 31, 1996,
shall have his or her term expire on March 31, 1996. His or her successor
shall then be appointed for a term of four years expiring on March
31.

(d)

Members now holding office for terms which are
to expire on April 5, 1997, but which, by operation of Town Law § 271,
Subdivision 5, were extended until December 31, 1997, shall have their
terms expire on March 31, 1997. Their successors shall then be appointed
for terms of four years expiring on March 31.
