There is hereby established an Arts Council that is an entity of the Village of Mamaroneck, which is also referred to as the "Village of Mamaroneck Arts Council" (a.k.a. "VOMAC"). Said Council will promote a close working relationship among all groups in the area.
The Council's purpose shall be to promote the performing and cultural arts within the Village. It shall seek to foster and attract to the Village entertainment on as many different levels and in as many different fields as possible. Additional programming funds may be raised from the public through voluntary contributions or through admission charges. All funds shall be collected in the name of the Village of Mamaroneck through the Clerk-Treasurer. No solicitation of funds by the Village of Mamaroneck Arts Council from the public, other than admission charges, shall be conducted without prior approval by the Board of Trustees.
Programs will be aimed at providing educational entertainment on three levels: amateur, semiprofessional and professional. The programs will be free to the public whenever possible. Admission charges may be made for performances.
There will be a close working relationship between the Council and all groups in the area.
