A. 
No porch, gallery, platform, steps or other fixture shall be allowed to extend into or on any part of the sidewalks of this City more than two (2) feet six (6) inches, nor shall any fixtures extending more than such distance upon any sidewalks of less than six (6) feet in width or any building or fence standing on any street, alley or other highway be repaired.
B. 
No cellar door shall extend into or upon a sidewalk of less width than six (6) feet more than two (2) feet six (6) inches nor into or upon any sidewalk more than three (3) feet.
C. 
No cellar grate, window curbing, signbox or other fixture shall extend into or upon any sidewalk or street more than eighteen (18) inches.
D. 
Shade trees may be planted near the curbstones of the sidewalks with the permission and under the direction of the Field Operations Supervisor, provided the same shall not be planted over eighteen (18) inches inside the curbstone.

A. 
It shall be lawful for any person to erect awning posts on any street, provided the same shall not be less than four (4) nor more than seven (7) inches at the center in diameter, except when made of iron.
B. 
The height of awning posts shall not be less than eight (8) feet six (6) inches from the pavement and the awning shall extend entirely over the sidewalk on which they are constructed.
C. 
Awning posts shall be erected under the superintendence of the Field Operations Supervisor and the pavements shall be neatly repaired at their base immediately after they are erected.
D. 
No awning or the framework or support thereof shall be less than eighteen (18) inches from the sidewalk, nor shall any such awning project more than eighteen (18) inches beyond the inside line of any such sidewalk.

It shall be unlawful for any person to suspend any merchandise or other articles in front of any building more than eighteen (18) inches from the wall thereof, if less than eight (8) feet above the pavement. Nothing in this Section shall be so construed as to prevent merchants or manufacturers from occupying with their wares eighteen (18) inches of the inside of the sidewalk, where such sidewalk is eight (8) feet or less in width, twenty (20) inches, if over eight (8) feet and less than ten (10) feet wide, and two (2) feet if the sidewalk is ten (10) feet or over in width. Nor shall this Section be so construed as to prevent merchants from occupying a greater space on the sidewalk, when receiving or shipping goods, if such goods are not permitted to remain more than eight (8) hours and at least one-half (½) of the sidewalk is at all times kept clear for passengers. No person shall be prevented from occupying for building purposes so much of any street or sidewalk for a reasonable time as may be assigned by the Field Operations Supervisor.

If a complaint in writing by any person shall be made to the Field Operations Supervisor to the effect that the erection of any awning, awning posts or other projection interferes in any way with the public convenience, free and uninterrupted passage or with the convenient transaction of business, the Field Operations Supervisor shall forthwith make personal examination of the matter set forth in such complaint and if in his/her opinion such complaint is well founded, he/she shall without delay give notice thereof in writing to the owner of such projection or to the person who caused the same to be erected and require the removal of such projection within five (5) days after service of such notice.
