A. 
A certain document, one (1) copy of which has been on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Oronogo for a period of ninety (90) days prior to the adoption of this Section, being marked and designated as the International Building Code, 2018 Edition, including Appendix Chapters C, E, G, H, I and J (see International Building Code Section 101.2.1, 2018 Edition), as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Oronogo, in the State of Missouri, for regulating and governing the conditions and maintenance of all property, buildings and structures; by providing the standards for supplied utilities and facilities and other physical things and conditions essential to ensure that structures are safe, sanitary and fit for occupation and use; and the condemnation of buildings and structures unfit for human occupancy and use and the demolition of such structures as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Building Code on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this legislation, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Subsection (B) of this Section.

There shall not be less than one (1) copy of the code as adopted by this Article kept in the office of the City Clerk and said copy shall be marked "Official Copy of the City of Oronogo Building Code".

This Building Code shall not be construed to relieve from responsibility or to lessen the responsibility of any person, firm or corporation owning, controlling or constructing buildings, nor shall the City be held as assuming any liability of any nature by reasons of the inspection authority hereby issued to the City Building Inspector for inspection of buildings.

A. 
All inhabitable structures within the City of Oronogo, Missouri, shall maintain and display identifying house numbers as assigned in accordance with the 2018 International Residential Code or subsequent versions of the International Residential Code formally adopted into the Code of Ordinances for the City of Oronogo.

Structures that are clearly visible from the roadway shall have the address numbers placed above or to the right of the entrance thereof on the road, lane, or avenue side of the building. Numbers shall be no less than four (4) inches in height and shall be increased by one (1) inch for each fifty (50) feet the structure sets back from the road, lane, or avenue to a limit of two hundred fifty (250) feet of unobscured visibility from any roadway. The numbers shall be of such reflective material and clearly in contrast to the house color or white reflective numbers placed on a dark blue six (6) inch by eighteen (18) inch aluminum or fiberglass panel attached to the house. All such numbers shall be clearly visible from the roadway, day or night.
C. 
Structures that are not clearly visible from the roadway shall have their address number placed at the intersection of their driveway/access way and the road, lane, or avenue for which the number has been assigned. Such numbers shall be not less than four (4) inches in height and shall be placed on both sides of the mailbox (if located at the intersection point, singularly identifying the structure) or on a separate post. If a separate post is used, the number shall not be less than five (5) feet nor more than seven (7) feet from ground level to provide optimum visibility. All such numbers shall be of reflective material and of a clearly contrasting color to the mailbox. If placed on a separate post, the numbers shall be white on a blue fiber or aluminum panel not less than six (6) inches by eighteen (18) inches in size. Such separate post marker shall be vertical in position.

The Building Inspector of the City of Oronogo is hereby directed to require appropriate numbers as a part of the building inspection process.
Any person who shall violate a provision of the Building Code adopted herein or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan of or directive of the Code Official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provision of this code, shall be guilty of an ordinance violation, punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.

It shall be the duty of any owner or subdivider of property, to extend to such property or subdivision, and each lot within said subdivision, as directed by the Building Officials of the City of Oronogo, City Utilities at the property owner's or developer's cost and expense in compliance with the Code of Ordinances of the City of Oronogo.
