In accordance with the Uniform Nonpartisan Election Law, N.J.S.A. 40:45-5 et seq., upon the effective date of this chapter, regular municipal elections, commencing with the 2014 municipal election, shall be held on the day of the general election, the Tuesday after the first Monday in November.

The term of any person in office on the date of the adoption of this chapter shall be extended until the beginning of the term of the person elected to that office on the day of the general election in November.
Following the November 2014 municipal election, Council members shall serve four-year terms commencing at 12:00 noon on January 1 following their election.
