An area of Duchesne Park is hereby designated for off-leash
dog use so long as the Director of Parks and Recreation determines
that there is a need for such an area and that it can be maintained
so as to not create a nuisance. The area shall be known as a "Dog
Play Area".

Only dogs registered with the Florissant Dog Park Club through
the Finance Department shall be permitted to use the Dog Play Area.
The registration fee shall be determined by the Florissant Dog Club
in accordance with an agreement with the City. A dog tag reflecting
registration with the Florissant Dog Park Club shall be worn by the
dog and it shall be inscribed with "Florissant Dog Club" and the year
of issuance to indicate that the dog is permitted to use the Dog Play
Area.

A. Only
dogs currently registered with the Florissant Dog Park Club through
the issuance of a tag by the City of Florissant shall be entitled
to use the Dog Park Play Area in Duchesne Park.
B. The
following regulations shall govern the Florissant Dog Park:
1. Hours of operation are 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 P.M.
2. Owners are legally responsible for their dogs and any injuries or
damage caused by their dogs.
3. Dog feces (and/or dog waste) must be cleaned up by owners.
4. All dogs must be on-leash until inside fenced area.
5. Dog owners must carry a leash at all times, closely supervise their
dogs and at no time may the owner leave the fenced area without his/her
dog(s).
6. Limit three (3) dogs per owner in the off-leash area.
7. Gates must be kept closed except for entering or exiting the "off-leash
(i.e. Dog Park) area".
8. Dogs must wear current Florissant Dog Club Tag and up-to-date rabies
vaccination tags.
9. Dogs must be under voice control at all times.
10. Owners must stop dog from digging and must fill any holes caused
by their dogs.
11. Remove pinch and spike collars prior to entering the fenced "off-leash"
area.
12. No children under ten (10) years of age allowed, older children must
be under strict adult supervision.
13. The dog park may be periodically closed for Police canine training.
14. Police K-9 equipment may be used by members of the Dog Park, with
prior consent from K-9 officers. K-9 equipment not to be used by Dog
Park will be secured by K-9 officers.
15. Professional trainers may not use the park for conduct of their business.
16. The following are not allowed in the fenced "off-leash" area:
b. Bull Terrier (Pit Bull) or Bull Terrier (Pit Bull) Mixed Breeds;
d. Dogs that are ill or injured;
e. Puppies under six (6) months of age;
g. Alcoholic beverages, food, dog treats, rawhide or glass containers;
and
h. Bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or blades, or any motorized
devices, except wheelchairs.

Any person who fails to comply with the provisions and regulations set forth above will be subject to eviction from the Dog Park Area or from the Park entirely in addition to the penalties prescribed in Section
100.080 of the Florissant Code of Ordinances. Violators of any of the regulations and provisions set forth herein may also be subject to having the Dog Park License revoked by the Florissant Dog Park Club.
