The Planning Commission of the City of Weatherby Lake shall
consist of not more than fifteen (15) nor less than seven (7) members,
including the Mayor, if the Mayor chooses to be a member; a member
of the Board of Alderpersons selected by the Board, if the Board chooses
to have a member serve on the Commission; and not more than fifteen
(15) nor less than five (5) citizens appointed by the Mayor and approved
by the Board. All citizen members of the Commission shall serve without
compensation. The term of each of the citizen members shall be for
four (4) years, except that the terms of the citizen members first
(1st) appointed may be for varying periods so that succeeding terms
will be staggered. Any vacancy in membership shall be filled for the
unexpired term by appointment by the Mayor and approval by the Board
of Alderpersons. The Board may remove any citizen member for cause
stated in writing and after public hearing.

The Planning Commission shall recommend the boundaries of the zoning districts and appropriate regulations to be enforced therein. The Commission shall make a preliminary report and hold public hearings thereon before submitting its final report and the Board of Alderpersons shall not hold its public hearings or take action until it has received the final report of the Planning Commission. The Commission shall also consider and recommend proposed amendments to this Zoning Code under the provisions of Section
400.030 of this Code.

This Zoning Code shall be subject to amendment by the Board
of Alderpersons upon recommendation of the Planning Commission. The
Planning Commission shall consider amendments proposed by written
application from any interested person or organization, including
any elected or appointed officials of the City of Weatherby Lake,
Missouri.

The Planning Commission shall submit recommendations regarding
the proposed amendment to the Board of Alderpersons within sixty (60)
days after the adjournment of the public hearing. The Board of Alderpersons
shall not act upon a proposed amendment to this Zoning Code until
it shall have received the written recommendations from the Planning
Commission. If an application for a proposed amendment is not acted
upon finally by the Board of Alderpersons within ninety (90) days
of the date upon which the Board of Alderpersons receive the recommendation
from the Planning Commission, the proposed amendment shall be deemed
to have been denied.

The Planning Commission shall have authority to exercise all powers of administration and governance granted under the subdivision regulations of the City of Weatherby Lake as incorporated by Chapter
410 of the City Code of Weatherby Lake, Missouri.
