A. 
Appointment And Term. The Mayor, with the consent and approval of the majority of the Board of Aldermen, shall appoint a qualified and competent person to fill the position of Wastewater Treatment System Superintendent for the City of Granby. The person so appointed shall hold the position at the pleasure of a majority of the members of the Board of Aldermen of the City of Granby.
B. 
Qualifications. The Wastewater Superintendent shall be required to have operator certifications from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources at a specified level as mandated by Federal and State regulations for both water and wastewater treatment systems.
C. 
General Position Description. Operation and maintenance of the wastewater utilities should require one (1) full-time superintendent who will work a forty (40) hour week minimum. Operation of the facilities on holidays and weekends will require an operator for only about two (2) or three (3) hours per day. At least two (2) other City employees will be trained by the Water and Wastewater Superintendent to perform routine monitoring and maintenance of the City facilities and will work under the directions and certification of the City Water and Wastewater Superintendent on holidays and weekends.

A. 
In addition to the duties herein required, the Wastewater Superintendent shall work and perform duties as directed by the Board of Aldermen, Mayor or required by law or ordinance.
B. 
Tasks. The Wastewater Superintendent will:
1. 
Monitor and maintain efficient operations of the wastewater/lift stations and all components of the sewer systems.
2. 
Make adjustments to system equipment as required to maintain efficiency of plant and system(s) operations.
3. 
Monitor the quantity and quality of the intake and discharge of wastewater for the entire sewer system(s).
4. 
Make laboratory analyses of the wastewater systems.
5. 
Maintain plants, facilities and grounds in a neat, clean and orderly fashion for all Granby wastewater systems.
6. 
Inspect and maintain all plants, facilities, grounds, forcemains, lift stations, new hookups, etc., for all Granby wastewater systems.
7. 
Maintain accurate and complete records of the quantity and quality of flows of all plant systems, laboratory tests, maintenance, etc., for the Granby wastewater processes.

Work Schedule. Work two (2) to three (3) hour days under direction of wastewater supervisor on holidays and weekends.
B. 
Tasks.
1. 
Monitor and maintain efficient operations of the wastewater/lift stations and all components of the water systems.
2. 
Make adjustments to system equipment as required to maintain efficiency of plant and system(s) operations.
3. 
Make adjustments, in emergency situations after contacting supervisor, to plant and system(s) process and equipment to maintain efficiency of plant and systems operations and lift station.
4. 
Monitor the quantity and quality of the intake and discharge of water/wastewater for the entire wastewater system(s).
5. 
Make laboratory analyses of influent grab sample for Ph and temperature.
6. 
Help maintain plants, facilities and grounds in a neat, clean and orderly fashion for all Granby wastewater systems.
7. 
Inspect and maintain all plants, facilities, ground, forcemains, lift stations, etc., for all Granby wastewater systems.
8. 
Maintain accurate and complete records of the quantity and quality of flows of all plant systems, laboratory tests, maintenance, etc., for the Granby wastewater processes.
