A. Penalties.
1.
Any person, firm or business entity convicted of violation of
any provision of this Title V or the International Building Codes
adopted herein is guilty of an ordinance violation and shall be punishable
by a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by confinement
in the County Jail for a term not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by
both such fine and confinement.

Every day any violation of Title V or the International Building
Code and building regulations adopted herein shall continue shall
constitute a separate offense.

Whenever any act is prohibited by the Building Code and building
regulations adopted in the Title, by an amendment thereof, or by any
rule or regulation adopted thereunder, such prohibition shall extend
to and include the causing, securing, aiding or abetting of another
person to do said act. Whenever any act is prohibited by the Building
Code and building regulations, an attempt to do the act is likewise
prohibited.
4.
Any person who shall continue any work after having been served
with a stop-work order, except such work as that person is directed
to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be liable
to a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment
not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served
shall be deemed a separate offense.
B. Saving Clause. Nothing in this Title V, or in the International Building
Code hereby adopted, shall be construed to affect any suit or proceeding
impending in any court, or any rights acquired, or liability incurred,
or any cause or causes of action acquired or existing, under any act
or ordinance hereby repealed; nor shall any just or legal right or
remedy of any character be lost, impaired or affected by this Section.
C. Liability. Nothing in this Title V, or in the International Building
Code hereby adopted, shall be construed to relieve from responsibility
or to lessen the responsibility of any person, firm, corporation owning,
controlling or constructing buildings, nor shall the City be held
as assuming any liability of any nature by reasons of the inspection
authority hereby issued to the City Building Inspector for inspection
of buildings.
