A. No
person shall engage in any occupation, trade, callings, professions
or establishments without securing a license as set out in this Chapter.
The term of licenses issued pursuant to this Chapter shall be for
one (1) year beginning January first (1st) and end on the thirty-first
(31st) day of December. The annual fee for the license shall be twenty-five
dollars ($25.00). New business licenses shall be pro-rated by one-half
(½) the original fee if the application is made after September
first (1st) of that year. No license shall be issued under this Chapter
until personal taxes and license taxes of the applicant for such a
license have been paid for the previous years.
B. Each
applicant for a business license under this Chapter shall submit a
statement from the Missouri Department of Revenue pursuant to Section
144.083.4, RSMo., stating no tax is due, which statement is a prerequisite
to the issuance or renewal of a City business license. The statement
required by this Section shall be dated within ninety (90) days of
submission of the business license application or renewal application.

The City shall keep a complete record of all licenses issued
under this Chapter showing the name and address of the licensee, the
nature of the license and the dates of issue and expiration of such
license. No person shall exercise, carry on or engage in selling,
exchanging or trading personal property, goods, wares or merchandise
from a motor vehicle in the City without first having obtained a license
therefore from the City Clerk.
All applications for renewal of a license provided for herein
shall be filed no later than December first (1st) of each year.

The local agents or other representatives of nonresidents who
are doing business in this City shall be personally responsible for
the compliance of their principals and of the businesses and enterprises
they represent with all applicable provisions of this Chapter.
