(a) 
Adopted. The Michigan vehicle code, Public Act No. 300 of 1949 (MCL 257.1 et seq.), is hereby adopted in full by reference except as modified in this article.
(b) 
References in code. References in the Michigan vehicle code to "local authorities," to "government" or to "governmental unit" means Park Township, Ottawa County, Michigan.
(c) 
Penalties and enforcement.
(1) 
Misdemeanor. Any provision of the Michigan vehicle code which describes an act, omission, or condition which is declared to be a criminal offense shall be processed as a misdemeanor. Unless some other penalty is expressly provided for by the Michigan vehicle code, any person found guilty of a misdemeanor under this article shall be subject to the imposition of a sentence which includes a fine of not more than $500, or imprisonment in the county jail for a maximum period of 93 days, or both such fine and imprisonment.
(2) 
Civil infraction. Any provision of the Michigan vehicle code which describes an act, omission, or condition which is declared to be a civil infraction, shall be processed as a civil infraction as provided for under state law. Any person found responsible for a civil infraction may be ordered by the judge or magistrate to pay a civil fine and costs as well as such additional penalties as are provided for by state law.
(3) 
Costs. When any person is found guilty of a criminal violation or responsible for a civil infraction pursuant to this article, the judge or magistrate shall summarily determine and tax the costs of the action which shall include all expenses, direct and indirect, to which the Township has incurred relative to the violation or infraction up to the entry of judgment.

The Uniform Traffic Code for Cities, Townships, and Villages as promulgated by the director of the Michigan Department of State Police, pursuant to the Administrative Procedures Act of 1969, Public Act No. 306 of 1969 (MCL 24.201 et seq.) and made effective October 30, 2002, is incorporated and adopted by reference.
(b) 
References and code. References in the Uniform Traffic Code for Cities, Townships, and Villages to a "governmental unit" means the Park Township, Ottawa County, Michigan.
(c) 
Penalties. The penalties provided by the Uniform Traffic Code for Cities, Townships, and Villages are hereby adopted by reference.
