A. A general
election for the elective officers of this City shall be held on the
first (1st) Tuesday after the first (1st) Monday in April of each
year; and shall be known as the "general municipal election
day".
1. On the first (1st) Tuesday after the first (1st) Monday in April
of even-numbered years, an election shall be held by the qualified
voters of each ward in the City for Mayor and for one (1) Alderman
for each ward, who shall hold their respective offices for the term
of two (2) years and until their successors shall be elected and qualified.
2. On the first (1st) Tuesday after the first (1st) Monday in April
of odd-numbered years, an election shall be held by the qualified
voters of each ward of this City for one (1) Alderman for each ward,
who shall hold their respective offices for the term of two (2) years
and until their successors shall be elected and qualified.

Any person desiring to seek election for any elective City office
at any general City election may do so by filing his/her name and
the office for which he/she seeks election with the City Clerk, the
opening filing date shall be 8:00 A.M. December 7, and the closing
filing date shall be 5:00 P.M. December 28. The Clerk shall keep a
permanent record of the names of the candidates, offices for which
they seek election, and the day of their filing, and their names shall
appear on the ballot in that order.
In City elections, the City Clerk shall notify the election
authority prior to 5:00 P.M. on the tenth (10th) Tuesday prior to
any City election except as noted in Section 115.125.1, RSMo. The
notice shall be in writing, shall specify that the Board of Aldermen
is calling the election, the purpose of the election, the date of
the election, and shall include a certified copy of the legal notice
to be published including the sample ballot. The written notice shall
be executed on behalf of the Board of Aldermen by the Mayor of the
Board and shall include the attestation of the City Clerk. The notice
and any other information required by this Section may, with the prior
notification to the election authority receiving the notice, be accepted
by facsimile transmission prior to 5:00 P.M. on the tenth (10th) Tuesday
prior to the election, provided that the original copy of the notice
and a certified copy of the legal notice to be published shall be
received in the office of the election authority within three (3)
business days from the date of the facsimile transmission.

A. The
City of Dexter, Missouri, is hereby divided into three (3) wards.
The area within each respective ward is described as follows:
1. Ward I. Commencing at a point where the centerline
of Locust Street intersects the center of the right-of-way of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad Company; thence westerly along the centerline
of the right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company to the
west boundary of the City of Dexter; thence generally in northerly,
easterly and southerly directions along the corporate limits of said
City to the centerline of North Locust Street; thence south along
the centerline of Locust Street to the place of beginning; which encompasses
the area within the corporate limits of the City of Dexter lying west
of the centerline of Locust Street and north of the centerline of
the right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company.
2. Ward II. Commencing at a point where the centerline
of Locust Street intersects the center of the right-of-way of the
Missouri Pacific Railroad Company; thence south along the centerline
of Locust Street, as extended, to the corporate limits of the City
of Dexter; thence in generally westerly and northerly directions along
the corporate limits of the City of Dexter, bounding the City on the
south and west, to the point where the west corporate limits of said
City intersects the center of the right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific
Railroad Company thence in an easterly direction along the centerline
of said right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company, to
the point of beginning; which encompasses the area within the corporate
limits of the City of Dexter lying west of the centerline of Locust
Street as extended, and south of the centerline of the right-of-way
of the Missouri Pacific Railroad Company.
3. Ward III. Commencing at a point where the south
corporate boundary of the City of Dexter is intersected by the centerline
of Locust Street as extended; thence generally in easterly, northerly
and westerly directions along the corporate limits of said City to
the centerline of North Locust Street; thence south along the centerline
of Locust Street to the place of beginning; which encompasses the
area within the corporate limits of the City of Dexter lying east
of the centerline of Locust Street, as extended, from the north corporate
limits to the south corporate limits.
