The City Finance Officer shall, within fifteen (15) days after
his/her appointment and before entering on the discharge of his/her
official duties, execute a bond to the City of Platte City in the
sum of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) with two (2) or more
sufficient personal sureties or a corporate surety to be approved
by the Board of Aldermen. The condition of said bond shall be that
he/she will promptly, honestly and faithfully discharge the duties
of his/her office and shall deposit daily all monies turn into him/her
by the City Collector into the previously designated City depository.
The cost of such bond shall be paid by the City of Platte City; however,
should the Chief Finance Officer be covered by a blanket bond to the
same extent, such individual bond shall not be required.

A. The
City Finance Officer shall keep all money, warrants, books, bonds
and obligations entrusted to his/her care and shall deposit daily
all monies turned into him/her by the City Collector into the previously
designated City depository.
B. The
City Finance Officer shall maintain a complete record of all certificates
of deposit, treasury notes, all bonded indebtedness and other investments
of City funds and shall prepare all financial reports.
C. The
City Finance Officer shall maintain a complete record of all account
payables of the City.
D. The
City Finance Officer shall prepare all payroll for the City and all
appropriate tax forms.

The salary of the City Finance Officer shall be a sum as set
by the Board from time to time.
