The Fire Department of the City of Absecon is authorized to recruit and train volunteer Fire Police for duty within the City of Absecon and County of Atlantic.

All volunteer Fire Police personnel recruited by the City of Absecon Fire Department must be trained pursuant to N.J.S.A. 15:8-4 et seq., and N.J.A.C. 5:73-7.1 and 7.2 et seq. No volunteer shall be allowed to perform the duties of a Fire Police Officer until he/she is properly trained according to standards established by the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs, Division of Fire Safety.

Qualified members shall serve for a term of office not exceeding five years from the date of appointment.

A qualified year for the Absecon Volunteer Fire Department shall be credited under a LOSAP for each calendar year after establishment of the program in which an active volunteer accumulates at least 500 points. Points shall be granted in accordance with the following system: | ||||
