The Board of Selectmen shall appoint an attorney-at-law to act
as Town Counsel, who shall be paid such compensation for his services
as the Board may determine.
The Selectmen shall have full authority, as agents of the Town,
to employ counsel to institute and prosecute suits in the name of
the Town, and appeal for and defend suits brought against it, unless
otherwise specially ordered by a vote of the Town.
