The Mendota Historic Preservation and Restoration Commission
may establish an appropriate system of processing fees for the review
of nominations and certificates of appropriateness.
Any person who undertakes or causes an alteration, construction, demolition, or removal of any nominated or designated landmark or designated historic preservation district without a certificate of appropriateness shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as set forth in Chapter
1, Article
III, Penalties and Enforcement, of the City Code. The Mendota Historic Preservation and Restoration Commission may institute appropriate action or proceedings in the name of the City of Mendota to enjoin, correct or abate any violation of this chapter.
