It is deemed necessary by the Board of Trustees of the Village
of Country Club, Missouri, to regulate the installation and operation
of swimming pools to be installed within the confines of the Village.
A public hearing was held on the proposed ordinance after due notice
of the same was published.

The following words and phrases, when used in this Chapter,
shall have the meanings set out herein:
DRAINAGE
Pools shall be equipped with facilities for completely emptying
the pool and the discharge of the pool water to the sewer shall be
at a rate not exceeding two hundred (200) gallons per minute. No direct
connection shall be made to the sewer. Water drained from all swimming
pools shall not be discharged in such a manner as to cause any discharge
or drainage onto any property other than the owner of the swimming
pool. Water drained from the pool shall not be discharged to the sewer
system during periods of rain or storms.
SWIMMING POOL
A receptacle for water or an artificial pool of water having
a depth at any point of more than two (2) feet intended for the purpose
of immersion or partial immersion therein of human beings and including
all appurtenant equipment.

Swimming pools shall not be permitted in districts that are
zoned "B-1", "B-2" and "B-3" and that swimming pools may be permitted
in districts zoned "R-1", "R-2" and "R-3".

A. Private
swimming pools having a water depth of two (2) feet or more shall
be subject to the following conditions:
1. Said swimming pools shall be located not less than ten (10) feet
from any rear or side lot line and, in the case of corner lots, not
less than ten (10) feet from the side property line.
2. No swimming pool shall extend forward of the established building
line.
3. If said swimming pool is located in the side yard, it shall be not
less than thirty (30) feet from the front line.
4. Said swimming pool shall be entirely enclosed by one (1) of the following
ways:
a. By at least four (4) feet in height by a chain link or wood-screening
fence enclosing the lot upon which it is built
b. Or in the case of a lot with existing fence less than four (4) feet
in height, the swimming pool area shall be entirely enclosed and separated
from the remainder of the property by a protective fence or other
permanent structure of at least four (4) feet in height.
5. Such protective enclosure shall be maintained by locked gates or
entrances when the pool is not tended by a qualified and responsible
person.
6. Swimming pools constructed above the ground having a height of four (4) feet or more do not require an enclosure as set forth in Subsections
(4) and
(5) if swing-away and stationary ladders are rendered inoperative when not tended by a qualified or responsible person.
7. Said swimming pools shall be located at least ten (10) feet from
overhead and underground electrical conductors.
8. All electric pool filtering and lighting systems shall have a ground
fault circuit breaker. Said electrical installations shall meet all
requirements of the National Electrical Code.
9. Swimming pools over one thousand six hundred (1,600) square feet
in area require an automatic pH feeder.
10. Swimming pools shall be so designed that a free residual chlorine
of at least seven-tenths (.7) ppm can be maintained at all times for
disinfecting purposes.
11. All residential pools containing twelve thousand (12,000) gallons
or more of water shall have an automatic chlorinator attached to the
filtering system.
12. Said swimming pools shall conform with the State of Missouri State
Health Department sanitation requirements.
