The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article,
shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where
the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
LOCAL SCHOOL and LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICT
Any school district located partially or totally within the
boundaries of the Township and shall include the properties of any
such public school district located within the territorial boundaries
of the Township.

No person shall create a disturbance or otherwise disrupt the
educational process and good order at any local school.

No person shall damage, destroy, or deface or aid in the damage,
destruction, or defacement of any public school building or the grounds,
fences, trees, buses, or equipment, appurtenances, or fixtures of
such school property. In the event any person under the age of 18
full years shall be found to have willfully damaged, destroyed, or
defaced school property, as above defined, the parents or legal guardians
of such person shall be presumed to have acquiesced or approved of
such action and shall be civilly liable for the actions of their child.

No person shall trigger, trip, set off, or otherwise use a fire
alarm device or fire extinguisher located on or within school property
except in the case of actual emergency or in the course of an authorized
demonstration.

[Code 1974, § 42-7]
Smoking within school buildings of a local school district shall
be prohibited except in those areas clearly posted as permitting such
practice. Nothing in this section shall be deemed to limit the imposition
of stricter rules governing smoking by the Board of Trustees of a
local school district.
