[Code 1974, § 22-3(2.3, 3.5)]
(a) It shall be unlawful for any person to park or stand a vehicle, whether
occupied or not, in a private driveway or on private property without
the express or implied consent of the owners or person in lawful possession
or control of such driveway or property.
(b) Any violation of Subsection
(a) of this section is punishable by a fine of $15. Any fines not paid within 72 hours, excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays, shall be increased to $25.
[Code 1974, § 32-1]
The Township Board shall have the power to designate fire lanes
on both public and private property. Such lanes shall be designated
in those areas which must be kept clear of parked cars and other obstructions
in order to allow access to buildings, parking lots, churches, schools,
hospitals, stores, apartments, mobile homes, and homes for firefighting
equipment, ambulances, police vehicles, and other emergency equipment.
[Code 1974, § 32-2]
The authority to establish the specific locations of fire lanes
shall be initiated by the appropriate members of the Township staff
and shall become effective upon approval by resolution of the Township
Board, filing with the Township Clerk, and erection of adequate signs
giving notice of the existence of such regulation. All such regulations
creating fire lanes, including any actions modifying or repealing
such regulations, shall be kept by the Township Clerk in the Traffic
Control Order Book under the heading of "Fire Lanes." No person shall
post a fire lane sign or otherwise designate a fire lane that has
not been approved and adopted by the Township Board. All unauthorized
signs or designations shall be immediately confiscated or otherwise
removed.
[Code 1974, § 32-3]
In addition to the penalties hereinafter provided, any public
safety officer may have any vehicle parked in a fire lane removed
therefrom at the owner's expense without liability to the officer
or the Township. In addition, any public safety officer responding
to any alarm may have any vehicle parked in such a manner as to obstruct
progress through a fire lane removed or moved aside by any available
means, regardless of damage to such vehicle, without liability to
either the officer or the Township, and such officer may command assistance
in such removal from those on the scene in the event of an emergency.
[Code 1974, § 32-4]
No person shall park any motor vehicle within, or otherwise
obstruct in any manner, a designated fire lane. The owner or operator
of any vehicle parked in a fire lane shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Any provision of this article which describes an act or omission which
constitutes a civil infraction under the terms of the Michigan Vehicle
Code (MCL § 257.1 et seq.) shall be processed as a civil
infraction and any person found to have committed a civil infraction
shall be ordered to pay a civil fine of not more than $100 and costs
in accordance with § 907 of the Michigan Vehicle Code (MCL
§ 257.907).
