It shall be unlawful to permit any cattle, horse, swine, sheep,
goats or poultry to run at large in the City. Any such animal running
at large may be impounded by or at the direction of a police officer
or Animal Control Officer at a location where such animal may be safely
kept for a maximum period of six days. The owner of such animal or
animals may, within such period, claim the animal or animals upon
payment of expenses incurred in the impounding and keeping of the
animal. The owner shall be responsible to pay all damages caused by
such animal or animals to public or private property prior to the
release of such animal. If the animal is not claimed within the six-day
period, the City or designee keeper of the animal may give away, sell
or otherwise humanely dispose of such animal.
