City of Taunton, MA Article IV Skating Rinks

[Adopted 10-10-2000 (§ 12-201 of the 2010 Code)]

§ 187-8 Grant of license.

Upon proper application and payment of the fee hereunder prescribed, the Mayor of Taunton may grant a license to any person to establish, keep open and maintain skating rinks to be used for roller-skating, carousels, inclined railways, Ferris wheels and outdoor exhibitions for the amusement of the public, for hire, gain or reward, upon such terms, conditions, and regulations as he deems proper, subject to MGL c. 140, §§ 202 to 205, inclusive.

§ 187-9 Violations and penalties. [1]

Whoever, without such license, establishes, keeps open or maintains a skating rink to be used for the amusement of roller-skating or any other amusement referred to in § 187-8 shall be punished by a fine or not more than $300.

§ 187-10 Application fee; term of license. [1]

The application fee hereunder shall be in the amount of $50. Said license shall be effective upon issue and will expire May 1 annually.
