The objective and purpose of the Parks Board in Riverside shall
be to analyze existing and future needs of the community for future
parks and recreation purposes in order to enhance the quality of life
of Riverside residents. Created by the Board of Aldermen, the Parks
Board functions in an advisory capacity with no budget authority.

A. The
Board shall be composed of seven (7) citizen members with two (2)
members from each ward, and one (1) at-large member. In addition,
one (1) member of the Board of Aldermen will serve in an ex officio
capacity.
B. The
citizen members shall be appointed by the Mayor, with the approval
of the Board of Aldermen.
C. The
citizen members shall serve four (4) year terms.
D. Citizen
members must be residents of the City of Riverside.
E. Citizen
members will serve without compensation.
F. Any
citizen member may be removed by the Board of Aldermen. Any member
who misses four (4) consecutive meetings shall be considered to have
resigned.
