A. The Board of Aldermen of the City of Truesdale hereby adopts the
following Codes: 2012 International Building Code, 2012 International
Residential Code for One- and Two-Family Dwellings, 2012 International
Mechanical Code, 2012 International Plumbing Code, 2012 International
Existing Building Code, 2012 International Property Maintenance Code,
the 2014 Electrical Code and 2015 Energy Conservation Code and amendments
thereto are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof as
if fully set out in this Chapter. These technical code books have
been available for public review in the office of the Clerk of the
City of Truesdale, Missouri, as of December 13, 2013, at 12:35 P.M.,
with the Energy Conservation Code available as of July 1, 2016. One
(1) copy of these codes and amendments thereto shall be kept on file
in the office of the City Clerk.

B. In
reference to these Codes, the "name of jurisdiction" or "local jurisdiction"
shall read the "City of Truesdale", the words "Governing Body" shall
read the "Board of Aldermen" and the words "Building Official" or
"Code Official" shall read the "Building Commissioner".
C. Building Inspections. Missouri Cities of the Fourth Class,
City of Truesdale being such, have the authority to regulate and control
the construction of building and provide for building inspections
pursuant to the provisions of Section 79.450.3, RSMo., 2000, as amended.
The City of Truesdale will contract with a qualified person
or company to assist it in inspections of buildings and enforcement
of various codes and those codes are periodically updated.
D. The
following penalty shall be enacted to apply to the codes adopted herein
in accordance with Section 67.280, RSMo.:
Penalty. Any person violating any of the provisions
of this Chapter or any of the codes adopted in this Chapter shall
be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall
be fined in an amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00)
or be imprisoned in the City or County Jail for a period of not exceeding
ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day such
violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a
separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.
