A.
At the first (1st) regular meeting of the City Council in May each year, the following officers shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the City Council, to wit: the Mayor Pro Tempore, the City Clerk, City Assessor, City Street Commissioner, City Engineer, City Water Commissioner, City Attorney, City Fire Chief and City Assistant Fire Chief who shall hold their respective offices for one (1) year or until their successor is appointed and qualified. Vacancies in said appointive offices shall be filled by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council.
B.
At the first (1st) regular meeting of the City Council in May each year, the Mayor of the City of LaGrange shall appoint the standing committees for the year with the advice and consent of the Council. The Mayor shall appoint three (3) members of the Council to each committee using one (1) Council member from each ward. The standing committees shall be as follows: Water and Sewer; Street; Finance; Cemeteries and Parks; Fire and Police.
C.
At any time the City Council desires, it may appoint or dismiss at pleasure any special committees.
