A. Any person desiring to seek election for any elected City office at any general City election may do so by filing with the City Clerk, on a form provided by the City for that purpose, a Certificate of Candidacy stating his/her name and the office for which he/she seeks election and the date of the election. Such form may be filed only after 8:00 A.M. on the seventeenth (17th) Tuesday before the election date and prior to 5:00 P.M. on the fourteenth (14th) Tuesday before the election date.
B. The Clerk shall keep a permanent record of the names of the candidates, the offices for which they seek election and the date of their filing, and their names shall appear on the ballots in that order. Such filing shall be made in the office of the City Clerk during normal business hours defined as 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
