The Department, under the supervision of the Chief of Police,
shall consist of such forces as may be recommended by the Manager
and approved by the Council.
This Department shall be responsible for all functions related
to the maintenance of law and order, by preventing crime and by enforcing
all valid laws and ordinances and including but not limited to those
functions specified below:
A. The prosecution of all violations of the law within its jurisdiction,
including investigation and preparation of evidence as required for
such prosecution.
C. Study and recommend the elimination of potential hazards to persons
and property, including:
(1) Maintenance and erection of traffic control systems;
(2) Painting of street and crosswalk lanes; and
(3) Removal of obstructions to the vision of automobile drivers.
D. Provide emergency services as required.
