Purpose. The purpose of this article is to establish requirements
for the permitting for the parking of motor vehicles either owned
or operated by employees, staff or persons working at business and/or
office locations in the Central Business District of the Village,
so as to alleviate repeat parking violations of such vehicles in the
metered parking spaces on the public thoroughfares and parking lots
of the Village in the Central Business District.
Permit required. No vehicle either owned or operated by employees,
staff or persons working at businesses and/or offices located in the
Central Business District shall be parked or remain in parking spaces
at the designated CBD employee parking locations without having first
obtained a parking permit from the Village Manager or the Manager's
designee. Permits issued are as follows:
Annual CBD employee parking permit: Payment for this permit will
allow the permit holder to park in the designated CBD employees parking
spaces only in the Cottage Street and North Walnut Street parking
lots. The permit users shall be responsible for payment of any and
all parking meter fees. This permit is not transferable.
All such vehicles either owned or operated by employer, staff or
persons working in the Central Business District desiring to park
in furtherance of the purpose of this article shall pay for their
parking utilizing one of the following approved methods:
Payment by means of a wireless system: Payment by means of a
wireless cellular communication device through a designated vendor
authorized by the Village of Ridgewood.
Parking permit hang tags (monthly) can be obtained by filing a registration
form and satisfying all necessary fees pursuant to § 265-47F
of the Code of the Village of Ridgewood. Such registration form and
payment of such fees shall be filed and paid at the Village Hall reception
desk or to such other person at such other location within the Municipal
Building as may be designated by the Village Manager.
Required information. Each registration form shall identify the name
of the business or office location at which the individual works and
the month(s) for which the vehicle shall be parked at the location.
The registration form shall also identify a contact person, including
a telephone number and email address, and any other information which
shall be deemed necessary from time to time by the Village Manager.
Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:5A-1 and the provisions of Subtitle 1, Title
39 of the New Jersey Statutes, the provisions of this article shall
be enforceable at the subject locations by any member of the Ridgewood
Police Department or a Ridgewood Parking Enforcement Officer.
