By adoption of this article, the Town Board of the Town of Mount Hope, Orange County, New York, declares its intent to exact an article pursuant to the provisions of § 1622 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York for the administration and enforcement of speed limits, and in the exercise of its police power in these regards does hereby enact the following provisions:
A. 
Section 2a and b of the Town of Mount Hope Regulatory Speed Limit Ordinance adopted on the 23rd day of November 1987 is repealed.
The Town Board of the Town of Mount Hope, Orange County, New York, hereby establishes maximum speed limits to which vehicles may proceed on the following Town roads:
A. 
The speed limit shall be 30 miles per hour within the Mount Hope area, the boundaries of which are described in Subsection A(1), exclusive of the county roads and Town highways listed in Subsection A(2).
(1) 
Area description. The boundaries of the Mount Hope area are the boundaries of the Town of Mount Hope.
(2) 
The following county roads and Town highways are excluded from the above thirty-mile-per-hour area speed regulations:

In accordance with § 1622 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law, the Department of Transportation, upon the request of the County Superintendent of Highways and the Town Board of the Town of Mount Hope, has filed orders with the Secretary of State whereby the above-enumerated provisions were added to the State Department of Transportation Regulations, said orders relating to:
A. 
Dated October 21, 1993;
B. 
Dated October 26, 1993; and
C. 
Dated June 24, 1987.
Said provisions will take effect upon the installation of the necessary traffic control devices required by and conforming to the State Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
Any violations of the speed limits set forth herein in the Town of Mount Hope pursuant to this article shall carry the same penalties provided for speed violations as set forth in § 1800 of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
