In lieu of all permit fees required to be paid by any other
provisions of this code, the following permit fees shall be as set
from time to time by resolution of Borough Council.
A. Commercial work:
(1) Permit fee for new work not exceeding three fixtures plus a fee for
each additional fixture.
(2) Permit for main drain or sewer connection.
(3) Permit for each gas- and or oil-burning heating equipment, new or
replacement.
(4) Permit for all air-conditioning units, with the exception of window-type
units.
B. Residential work:
(1) Permit fee for new work not exceeding three fixtures plus a fee for
each additional fixture.
(2) Permit for main drain or sewer connection.
(3) Permit for each gas and electrical appliance requiring plumbing installation.
(4) Permit for each gas- and oil-burning heating equipment, new or replacement.
(5) Permit for all air-conditioning units with the exception of window-type
units.
C. Residential, commercial and industrial:
(1) Any domestic water supply distribution piping, including water service,
new or replacement.
(2) Hot-water heater, gas or electric, new or replacement.
D. Escrow for street and sidewalk openings:
(1) At the time of applying for a permit for a street opening, the applicant
shall deposit a sum as set by Borough Council, which sum shall be
held in escrow and returned upon completion of the repair and approval
by the inspector. The opening is to be protected and covered until
completed. Restoration shall be done by the contractor according to
Borough specifications.
(2) At the time of applying for a permit for a sidewalk opening, the
applicant shall deposit a sum as set by Borough Council (per four-by-four-foot
block), to be returned upon the completion of the repair and approval
by the inspector. Sidewalks to be opened are to be replaced within
seven days. Restoration shall be done by the contractor according
to Borough specifications.
For the purposes of this article, the following terms shall
have the meanings indicated:
FIXTURE
Any receptacle attached to the house drainage system for
the receiving of drainage, either inside or outside of the building,
or any connection provided for making a future attachment of such
receptacle.
The Plumbing Inspector or other designated officer shall be
notified of any minor replacements made to the sanitary sewer system
or drainage system even where a permit is not required.

The Plumbing Inspector of the Borough of Sharon Hill shall receive
$600 per year as an annual salary.
