The Sharon Hill Fire Company is hereby designated as the Fire
Department of the Borough of Sharon Hill.
Funds shall be allocated for the various expenses of the Fire
Company in each annual budget of the Borough of Sharon Hill.
The officers of the Fire Department shall be elected each year
in accordance with the constitution and bylaws of the Sharon Hill
Fire Company.

The duties of the Sharon Hill Fire Company and its members shall
comprise the following: attending fires, fire drills, firemen's
conventions and parades, or any emergency call to save life or relieve
public distress within or without the limits of the Borough, either
with or without the company's apparatus; attending any other
activity within or without the limits of the Borough to promote the
interests of the company, including events of a social nature to raise
funds for the company; servicing, repairing and caring for the company's
apparatus and altering, repairing and cleaning the company's
firehouse.
This article is passed pursuant to the Act of Assembly of July
2, 1941 (P.L. 222) by which it is provided that the Workers' Compensation
Law shall apply not only to injuries sustained by members of a volunteer
fire company while actually engaged as firemen or while going to and
returning from any fire, but also while performing any other duties
of such company authorized by the respective municipality in which
it is located.
