The Treasurer shall receive and safely keep all monies, warrants, books, bonds and obligations entrusted to his/her care and shall pay over all monies, bonds or other obligations of the City on warrants or orders, duly drawn, passed or ordered by the Board of Aldermen, and signed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk, and having the Seal of the City affixed thereto, and not otherwise; and shall perform such other duties as may be required of him/her by ordinance. Before entering upon the duties of his/her office he/she shall give bond in the amount of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00).

The Treasurer shall report to the Board of Aldermen, on or before the first (1st) day of July in each year, the amount of receipts and expenditures of the Treasury, the amount of money on hand, and the amount of bonds falling due, if any, for the redemption of which provision must be made, and the amount of interest to be paid during the next fiscal year.

The Treasurer shall, on or before the first (1st) meeting of the Board of Aldermen in the months of January and July of each year, make out and present to the Board a full and detailed account and statement of the receipts and expenditures and indebtedness of the City of the half (½) year ending December thirty-first (31st) and June thirtieth (30th) preceding the date of such report. The Board of Aldermen shall publish said account and statement in some newspaper in the City and if there be no newspaper published in the City, then in the next nearest newspaper published in Platte County, Missouri.
