A. 
Authority to impound vehicles.
(1) 
When any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any highway within this Village during a snowstorm, flood, fire or other public emergency which affects that portion of the public highway upon which said vehicle is parked or abandoned, said vehicle may be removed by the Superintendent of Public Works.
(2) 
When any vehicle is found unattended on any highway within this Village where said vehicle constitutes an obstruction to traffic, said vehicle may be removed by the Superintendent of Public Works.
(3) 
When any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any highway within this Village where stopping, standing or parking is prohibited, said vehicle may be removed by the Superintendent of Public Works.
B. 
Storage and charges. After removal of any vehicle as provided in this article, the Superintendent of Public Works may store such vehicle in a suitable place at the expense of the owner. Such owner, or person in charge of the vehicle, may redeem the same upon payment to the Clerk of the amount of all expenses actually and necessarily incurred in effecting such removal. Removal charges and storage charges shall not exceed the maximum charges established by resolution of the Board of Trustees.
C. 
Notice of removal. The Superintendent of Public Works shall, without delay, report the removal and the disposition of any vehicle removed as provided in this section to the Clerk, and it shall be the duty of such Clerk to ascertain, to the extent possible, the owner of the vehicle or person having same in charge and notify him of the removal and disposition of such vehicle and of the amount which will be required to redeem same.
A. 
Three-thousand-pound limit. All trucks, commercial vehicles, tractors, tractor-trailer combinations, tractor-semitrailer combinations or tractor-trailer-semitrailer combinations in excess of 3,000 pounds are hereby excluded from the following highways within the Village:

Exceptions. The regulations established in this section shall not be construed to prevent the delivery or pickup of merchandise or other property along the highways from which such vehicles and combinations are otherwise excluded.
A. 
Mineola Boulevard at Jericho Turnpike.
(1) 
The left lane for northbound traffic on Mineola Boulevard at Jericho Turnpike shall be used only for left turns into Jericho Turnpike.
(2) 
The center lane for northbound traffic on Mineola Boulevard at Jericho Turnpike shall be used only for through traffic on Mineola Boulevard.
(3) 
The right lane for northbound traffic on Mineola Boulevard at Jericho Turnpike shall be used only for right turns into Jericho Turnpike.
B. 
Mineola Boulevard at First Street.
(1) 
The two lanes for northbound traffic on Mineola Boulevard at First Street shall be used only for right turns into First Street.
(2) 
The two lanes for southbound traffic on Mineola Boulevard at First Street shall be used only for left turns into First Street.
C. 
Mineola Boulevard at Second Street.
(1) 
The three lanes for northbound traffic on Mineola Boulevard at Second Street shall be used only for left turns into Second Street.
(2) 
The two lanes for southbound traffic on Mineola Boulevard at Second Street shall be used only for left turns into Second Street.
D. 
Mineola Boulevard at Old Country Road. The three lanes for southbound traffic on Mineola Boulevard shall be used only for left turns into Old Country Road.
E. 
Willis Avenue at Old Country Road.
(1) 
The left lane for southbound traffic on Willis Avenue shall be used only for left turns into Old Country Road.
(2) 
The right lane for southbound traffic on Willis Avenue shall be used only for right turns into Old Country road.
F. 
Willis Avenue at Jericho Turnpike.
(1) 
The left lane for northbound traffic on Willis Avenue shall be used only for left turns into Jericho Turnpike and through traffic on Willis Avenue.
(2) 
The right lane for northbound traffic on Willis Avenue shall be used only for right turns into Jericho Turnpike and through traffic on Willis Avenue.
(3) 
The left lane for southbound traffic on Willis Avenue shall be used only for left turns into Jericho Turnpike and through traffic on Willis Avenue.
(4) 
The right lane for southbound traffic on Willis Avenue shall be used only for right turns into Jericho Turnpike and through traffic on Willis Avenue.
G. 
Roslyn Road at Jericho Turnpike.
(1) 
The three lanes for northbound traffic on Roslyn Road shall be used only for left turns into Jericho Turnpike.
(2) 
The three lanes for southbound traffic on Roslyn Road shall be used only for left turns into Jericho Turnpike.
H. 
Roslyn Road at Old Country Road.
(1) 
The three lanes for southbound traffic on Roslyn Road shall be used only for left turns into Old Country Road.
I. 
Second Street at Roslyn Road.
(1) 
The two lanes for eastbound traffic on Second Street shall be used only for left turns into Roslyn Road.
(2) 
The two lanes for westbound traffic on Second Street shall be used only for left turns into Roslyn Road.
Pavement markings shall be installed on highways within the Village of Mineola in accordance with the standards and specifications established by the New York State Department of Transportation.
