A. License Tax. Pursuant to Laws of Missouri, 1945, page 1224,
every person, firm or corporation now or hereafter engaged in the
business of supplying or furnishing electricity, electrical power
or electrical service in the City shall pay to the City as a license
or occupational tax six percent (6%) of the gross receipts derived
from such business within the City.

B. Gross Receipts — Statement.
1. All persons, firms, companies or corporations engaged in the business
of furnishing electric service in the City of Pagedale, Missouri,
are hereby required to file with the City Clerk of the City a sworn
statement showing the gross receipts derived from the transactions
of such businesses within the City.
2. Such statements for the annual license shall be filed as follows:
a. For the business transacted and gross receipts derived for the calendar
year of 1982, such statement shall be due and filed on the fifteenth
(15th) day of July, 1983.
b. For the business transacted and gross receipts derived for the calendar
year of 1983 and thereafter, such statements shall be due and filed
on the last day of April, last day of July, last day of October and
on the last day of January showing the gross receipts from business
during the three (3) calendar months preceding the month in which
the statement is due and shall be for a license to operate for the
calendar quarter in which the payment is made.
C. Payment Of Tax.
1. At the time the above statements are filed and required to be filed,
payment shall be made to the City Collector of the City at the rate
of five percent (5%) on such receipts. The electric company shall
have the privilege of crediting such sums as may be due hereunder
with any unpaid balance due said company for electric service rendered
or facilities furnished to said City.
2. The Clerk of the City of Pagedale and such other persons as may be
designated by the Board of Alderpersons of said City from time to
time is and are hereby authorized to investigate the correctness and
accuracy of any statement filed under the provisions of this Section
and for that purpose shall have access at all reasonable times to
the books, documents, papers and records of any person, firm or corporation
filing such statement.
D. No Exemption From Other Taxes. Nothing contained in this
Section shall be so construed as to exempt any person, firm or corporation
to which this Section is applicable from the payment to the City of
the tax which the City levies upon the real or personal property belonging
to such person, firm or corporation.
E. Violation And Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation engaged
in any business to which this Section applies who shall violate any
of the provisions hereof shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and
upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not less than
one hundred dollars ($100.00) nor more than five hundred dollars ($500.00)
for each such offense and each day such violation continues shall
be deemed a separate offense.
F. The gross receipts tax imposed upon electric corporations, including, but not limited to, Ameren Missouri, pursuant to Section
625.040 of the Code of the City of Pagedale, Missouri, shall be maintained at its existing rate of six percent (6%), despite the tariff increase awarded by the PSC to Ameren Missouri effective on July 31, 2011.

A. For
any month when there is a change of user of residential (rate 001)
or non-residential (rate 043) electric service within the City of
Pagedale, AmerenUE shall notify the City Clerk and/or License Commissioner
(or other appropriate official) of changes indicating the address
and apartment or unit number and the name(s) of electric user(s) per
service and address and apartment or unit number in whose name service
is connected or billed.
B. AmerenUE
shall submit annually to the City an invoice for its costs associated
with this Section. The initial costs of this service shall not exceed
(amount to be determined by municipality). AmerenUE estimates one
hundred fifty dollars ($150.00). Future price increases, if any, will
only reflect the actual costs incurred by AmerenUE to provide this
service. The City shall pay to AmerenUE the amount of the invoice
within thirty (30) days of receipt.
C. Any
person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this
Section shall, upon conviction thereof, be guilty of an ordinance
violation.
