There is created the position of Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer.
A. 
It shall be the duty of the Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer to enforce the Knowlton Township Ordinances.
B. 
It shall be the responsibility of the Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer to enforce the Knowlton Township Ordinances and Health Ordinances of the township.
C. 
The Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer shall have the duty to inspect the properties in the municipality for violations or, upon being advised of the existence of a violation, to issue orders to the owners of the property to cease and desist from such violation or, where other means fail, to file a complaint in the Municipal Court for violations of this chapter.
D. 
The Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer shall work closely with the Municipal Attorney as regards any violations of Part VI, Zoning, and it will be the determination of the governing body, made upon the advice of the Municipal Attorney, as to whether an action, such as for an injunction or other extraordinary relief, ought to be sought in the Superior Court.
No building permit shall be issued by the Construction Official unless the plans accompanying the building permit application are accompanied by an approved zoning permit. No zoning permit shall be issued unless the proposed structure, use, temporary activity, and required construction activities necessary to implement the proposed plans are in compliance with the Knowlton Township Ordinances. In cases involving the new use of an existing structure, no certificate of occupancy for the new tenant shall be issued until a zoning permit has been issued.
Nonrefundable inspection fees as outlined in this chapter will be charged for the Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer's inspections. The fee shall be paid prior to review by the Zoning Officer/Code Enforcement Officer.
