As used in this Chapter, the following terms shall have these
prescribed meanings:
Every person, firm, partnership or corporation engaged in
any business, occupation, pursuit, profession or trade or in keeping
or maintaining any institution, establishment, article, utility or
commodity specified in this Chapter, except as may be otherwise provided
by ordinance.
Includes, unless otherwise provided, all licenses and permit
fees and taxes levied on or required to be secured or had, as herein
provided, by any merchant, manufacturer, business or solicitor.

Unless otherwise provided, shall begin on June first (1st)
and shall end on May thirty-first (31st) next.
Every person, firm, partnership or corporation engaged in
any process of manufacturing, fabricating or refining at any place
occupied for that purpose within the City of Lincoln is hereby declared
to be a manufacturer, except as may be otherwise provided by ordinance.
Every person, corporation, copartnership or association of
persons, except motor vehicle dealers as defined in Sections 150.010
to 150.015, RSMo., who shall deal in the selling of goods, wares and
merchandise at any store, stand or place occupied for that purpose,
is declared to be a "merchant".
Any person, firm, partnership or corporation engaged in the
selling or taking orders for any goods, merchandise or insurance is
hereby declared to be a solicitor, except as may be otherwise provided
by ordinance.
