In the construction of this zoning ordinance, the following rules shall be observed and applied, except where the context clearly indicates otherwise:
A.
The present tense shall include the future.
B.
The singular number shall include the plural and the plural the singular.
C.
The word "shall" is mandatory and not discretionary.
D.
The word "may" is permissive.
E.
The word "building" includes the word "structure."
F.
The words "used for" shall include the phrases "arranged for," "designed for," "intended for," "maintained for," and "occupied for."
G.
The word "lot" shall mean "zoning lot" unless otherwise specified in this chapter.
H.
The words "lot," "parcel," or "premises" may be used interchangeably.
I.
All stated and measured distances shall be taken to the nearest integral foot. If a fraction is 1/2 foot or less, the integral foot next below shall be taken.
