The Mayor shall appoint five residents of the City pursuant
to MGL c. 41, § 81A, who shall exercise all the rights,
power and authority provided in MGL c. 41, §§ 81A through
81J and all acts in addition thereto and in amendment thereof. The
name of the commission thus appointed shall be the "Fall River Planning
Board." Such board shall perform all the duties required under the
laws of the commonwealth, and shall exercise such other duties and
powers as by ordinance may from time to time be enacted by the City
Council.
The Planning Board shall elect its own chairperson and clerk.
The Planning Board shall report to the Mayor and to the City
Council at least once in each year, and whenever requested to do so
by the Mayor or the City Council.
