The Chief of Police of the City shall be the head of the Police
Department and shall be responsible for the management and operation
of such department. The Chief of Police shall be appointed by the
Mayor and confirmed by the City Council and shall be employed by contract
for a period of not less than three years and not more than four years.
The terms and conditions of the contract shall be determined by the
Mayor and approved by the City Council. Park police officers shall
be under the control and jurisdiction of the Chief of Police.
