The Mayor with the approval of a majority of the members of the Board of Aldermen shall appoint a City Treasurer-Collector.

No person shall be eligible for the office of Treasurer-Collector of the City of Cole Camp, Missouri, who is not at least twenty-one (21) years of age, and a citizen of the United States.

The City Treasurer-Collector of the City of Cole Camp shall, before entering upon the duties of Treasurer-Collector of said City, enter into good and sufficient bond with at least two (2) freeholders as security or with a corporate surety to be approved by the Board of Aldermen in the penal sum of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000.00) conditioned that he/she will faithfully discharge the duties of his/her office and pay over to the City all monies collected by him/her belonging to said City in the manner prescribed by law and ordinance.

The Treasurer-Collector shall perform all the duties specified in this Code and shall perform such other duties as may be directed by the City Clerk and/or Mayor.

The Treasurer-Collector shall annually, at such times as may be designated by ordinance, make a detailed report to the Board of Aldermen stating the various monies collected by him/her during the year, and the amounts uncollected, and the names of the persons from which he/she failed to collect, and the causes therefor.

The Mayor may appoint a Deputy Treasurer-Collector to be approved by the Board of Aldermen, and when such Deputy Treasurer-Collector shall have taken and subscribed to the oath provided by this Code, he/she shall possess all the qualifications and powers and be charged with the same duties as the Treasurer-Collector.

A. 
This Section authorizes the City of Cole Camp to enter into a cooperative agreement of the Collector of Revenue of Benton County, Missouri, whereby said Collector shall be employed by the City of Cole Camp to send out tax bills to residents of the City of Cole Camp for real property tax, personal property tax, surtax on commercial property, and other special assessments levied against real estate, as well as other real and personal property taxes which may hereafter accrue, and shall also be authorized to collect all of said taxes on behalf of the City of Cole Camp. The terms of said cooperative agreement shall be on file in the City offices.
B. 
The present City Treasurer-Collector of the City of Cole Camp and his/her successor in office shall be relieved from all duties which are set forth in said cooperative agreement to be performed by the Collector of Benton County. All other statutory obligations of the City Treasurer-Collector, or duties prescribed by ordinances of the City of Cole Camp, Missouri, which are not set forth in said agreement to be performed by the Benton County Collector on behalf of the City of Cole Camp, shall continue to be performed by the Treasurer-Collector of the City of Cole Camp.
