A.
The purpose of this chapter is to enable the Board of Education of
the Sterling Regional High School District and the Board of Education
of the Somerdale Local School District to have access to and to obtain
any criminal record data which may exist as to both current and prospective
employees of the Sterling Regional High School District and the Somerdale
Local School District.
B.
The acquisition of such data, if the same exists, as to any such
current or prospective employee is deemed essential to said employer
in assuring the safety and welfare of all students and employees of
the Sterling Regional High School District and the Somerdale Local
School District.
It is hereby provided that the Boards of Education of the Sterling
Regional High School District and the Somerdale Local School District
may request and the New Jersey State Police Records Section may release
to said Boards any criminal history information said State Police
may have in their files regarding both current and prospective employees
of the Sterling Regional High School District and the Somerdale Local
School District.
Any such criminal history information as mentioned above shall
include that obtainable from the State Police Records Section through
fingerprint samples obtained by said Boards of Education pursuant
to such rules and regulations as the Boards may enact pursuant to
local, state and federal laws.
Any such criminal history information as mentioned above shall
include information collected by criminal justice agencies on individuals
consisting of identifiable descriptions, notations of arrest, detentions,
indictments, information or other formal criminal charges and any
dispositions arising therefrom, sentencing, correctional supervision
and release.
