§ 430-7 Speed limits.

In accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3363, maximum speed limits are established on portions of specified streets as follows, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle, on any part of a street where a maximum speed limit applies, at a higher speed than the maximum prescribed for that part of the street:

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-7 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $35. Any person exceeding the maximum speed limit by more than five miles per hour shall pay an additional fine of $2 per mile per hour for each mile per hour in excess of five miles per hour over the maximum speed limit.

§ 430-8 School zones.

In accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3365(b), a fifteen-mile-per-hour-while-flashing speed limit is established on portions of specified streets, as follows, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle on any part of a street where a flashing, fifteen-mile-per-hour speed limit applies at a higher speed.

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-8 shall, upon conviction, be subject to the penalties prescribed by the Motor Vehicle Code of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from time to time for such offense.

§ 430-9 Traffic control signals.

At the following locations, traffic signals as indicated below shall be erected (or are ratified if previously erected) and traffic at those locations shall be directed by those signals in accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3112:

Any driver of a vehicle who disobeys the directions of any traffic signal shall upon conviction be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 430-10 Prohibited turns on red signal.

In accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3112(a)(3)(ii), the following are established as intersections where drivers of vehicles headed in the direction or directions indicated are prohibited from making a right turn on a steady red:

Any driver of a vehicle who violates any provision of this § 430-10 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 430-11 One-way streets.

In accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3308, the following are established as one-way streets, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle upon a one-way street other than in the direction established for traffic upon that street:

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-11 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 430-12 Prohibited turns at intersections.

In accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3331(c), it shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle, traveling upon the first-named street at any of the following intersections in the direction or directions indicated in each case, to make a left turn and/or a right turn into the second-named street:

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-12 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 430-13 Center-lane traffic at certain intersections must turn left.

In accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3331(d), every driver of a vehicle approaching any of the following intersections, upon the first-named street, in the center lane of that street, in the direction or directions indicated, shall be required to make a left turn onto the second-named street and shall not be permitted to make a right turn or to continue across the intersection upon the first-named street:

§ 430-14 U-turns.

It shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle traveling upon any of the following portions of streets in the direction or directions indicated for that street to make a U-turn:

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-14 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 430-15 No-passing zones.

In accordance with 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3307, the following are established as no-passing zones and it shall be unlawful for the driver of any vehicle to overtake or pass another vehicle or to drive on the left side of the roadway in any no-passing zone:

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-15 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 430-16 Stop intersections.

The following intersections are established as stop intersections and official stop signs shall be erected (or are ratified if previously erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named street (the through street) on the first-named street (the stop street) in the direction or directions indicated for that intersection. Every driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection on the first-named or stop street in the direction indicated in each case shall stop the vehicle as required by 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3323(b) and shall not proceed into or across the second named or through street until he has followed all applicable requirements of that section of the law.

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-16 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 430-17 Yield intersections.

The following intersections are established as yield intersections, and official signs shall be erected (or are ratified if previously erected) in such a position as to face traffic approaching the second-named street (the through street) on the first-named street (the yield street) in the direction or directions indicated for that intersection. Every driver of a vehicle approaching the intersection of the first-named or yield street in the direction indicated in each case shall slow down or stop the vehicle as required by 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 3323(c) and then yield the right-of-way as required by that subsection of the Vehicle Code:

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-17 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.

§ 430-18 Closing of certain streets to certain vehicles.

In accordance to 75 Pa.C.S.A. § 4902, it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a tractor, tractor and trailer, truck or other commercial vehicle with a gross weight in excess of 9,000 pounds on:

Provided: Nothing in this § 430-18 shall prohibit any person from driving an emergency vehicle on any of those streets or parts of streets or from driving on any of those streets or parts of streets a truck or other commercial vehicle making local deliveries to or pickups from premises located along that street or part of a street.

Any person who violates any provision of this § 430-18 shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $500.

§ 430-19 Play highways.

The following portions of streets are established as play highways on the days and between the hours prescribed in each case, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a motor vehicle upon any such play highway at any time when it shall be so designated by a posted sign and barricaded for such use.

In cases of emergency with special permission of the Mayor or of the police officer in charge, it shall be lawful to drive a motor vehicle upon a play highway, but the Mayor or Police Officer shall first clear the play highway of all persons using the area for play.

Any person who drives a vehicle upon a play highway when prohibited under any of the preceding subsections of this § 430-19 shall be guilty of a violation and upon conviction shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $25 and costs.
